Time and again we read these reports, hear these reports, see these reports, and hear about them in our surroundings.
A father discovered too late that there were multiple nude images of his then 11-year-old daughter on her PC. It soon became clear that the girl had fallen victim to a 27-year-old Dutch pedophile who had contacted her via TikTok and then added her on Snapchat to a group called “we are really naughty.”
Eventually, the 27-year-old persuaded the girl to take and send self-made nude photos and videos. The girl complied because the man threatened to “hack her entire family” if she did not send the images.
The 27-year-old was eventually sentenced to two years in prison with a suspended sentence and contact bans and conditions: for example, the man is no longer allowed to contact minors and received a ban from visiting swimming pools, youth organizations, or sports clubs.
Both the parents and the 11-year-old child were awarded compensation, but “what the impact on the future of the girl and her parents will be, we do not yet know,” concluded the lawyer of the parents and the young victim.
